Sho Kubota

Sho is a nationally and internationally award-winning percussionist, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. Sho has loved music since a young age, and his passion for Japanese Taiko Drumming led him to dive deep into the world of drums and percussion. With a modest start to marimba in university, he has found success in various national contests in chamber music, solo percussion, and jazz drums. Internationally, he has competed in the live semifinals of the Great Plains marimba competition and has attended the inaugural Nashville Marimba Sessions.
