Eukai Miao

Eukai Miao is a passionate young marimbaist who has performed in various solo and

ensemble settings. He began learning marimba and percussion at the age of 10 and

has received many awards and accolades over the years in various competitions, which include the Ryde Eisteddfod and Australian Percussion Eisteddfod.

Eukai is currently a music scholar at The King’s School and studies under Sandy Sin. In July 2024, he won first place in the High School section of the Great Plains International Marimba Competition in Oklahoma, USA. Last year, Eukai accompanied an HSC student in a marimba and vibraphone duet for his Music Extension ensemble performance, in which he received full marks. Eukai also placed third in his school’s concerto competition in March 2025.

This year, his appearance at the Australian Marimba Competition represents an exciting opportunity to share his artistry and continue growing as a musician.
